The Most Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

What is a Systems Built Home?

Simply put, our homes are highly engineered and produced in an efficient and cost effective manner. Our homes actually begin as components designed and engineered in a controlled environment at our Modern Manufacturing facility in Oxford, Maine. It is when these components come together on your building site and the final finish is completed by your independent Residential Builder/Distributor, that the components become a beautiful home for you and your family.

Tell me more about the Construction Process?

Our systems built modular homes are models of efficiency and quality assurance. The building process begins at the design phase. We utilize state of the art Computer Assisted Drafting & Design (CADD), which allows us to customize floor plans, produce construction drawings and generate material requirement lists. Once designed, the building process begins. This process is similar to what you've seen during the construction of quality houses in your neighborhood. The same materials, care for detail, construction standards, and building codes are observed. So what's different?  Efficiency and Control!  Efficiency begins with modern factory assembly techniques. Your home travels to workstations with all the building trades represented. Work is never delayed by weather, subcontractor no-shows or missing material. Professional engineering and systems building construction techniques significantly increase the energy efficiency of your new home. A quality control process provides assurance that your home has been inspected for code compliance and workmanship. In-plant inspectors as well as PFS, our independent third party testing agency, inspect our homes on behalf of your federal, state and local government.

How long does it take to build one?
Speed and consistent quality are two of the many advantages for looking to us for your housing needs. Depending on the time of year, your new home will usually be ready for delivery two to four months from the time you place an order with an independent Residential Builder/Distributor. After your new home is installed on your building site, final finishing and utility connections by your independent Residential Builder/Distributor are generally completed within 4-6 weeks.

What do these homes look like?

Our homes look like any other high quality residences. Our building technology enables us to build ranches, splits, capes, gambrels, salt boxes, garrisons, colonials, and contemporaries. We build homes for every taste and pocketbook.

What is GREEN Building?

GREEN Building is the practice of using energy efficient and sustainable materials with a design and construction process that protects and promotes a better environment.  An Eco-Building Systems' home built to GREEN standards uses less energy, water, and natural resources while providing you the benefits of a superior home and a healthier environment for you and your family.  Ask your independent Residential Builder/Distributor about how your new home from Eco-Building Systems can become a LEED (Leadership In Energy & Environmental Design) certified GREEN home.

Can I design my own home?
Absolutely. We allow you complete design flexibility and encourage you to make any changes necessary to make your new home the house of your Dreams. The "Dream Weavers" in our design department are equipped with the latest technology to assist you with your housing project and make the purchase of your new home a most enjoyable experience.
